The Reception Desk is a firm which offers a
Virtual PA Service. As part of their services, The Reception Desk answer phone calls on behalf of their customers and take messages. These messages are immediately sent to their customers via text-message and a
summary is e-mailed to customers at the end of the day.
The software used by The Reception Desk is called
ACT!, which is an
off-the-shelf product created by Sage. Originally the Personal Assistants at The Reception Desk were
manually copying-and-pasting details from customer files into e-mails for
end-of-day reports
As
the company grew, this manual process was taking longer and longer. UK DEV were hired to automate this process by
customising the ACT! software to automatically generate End-of-Day Reports.
This report generator is ran on a daily basis, for hundreds of clients of The Reception desk. This has
automated hundreds of thousands of e-mails over the past 5 years.
